Straight from the top of our dome - our love for a well aged Island whisky should be well known by now. Our love for the Whisky tasting festival WTF was at first sight when we were first invited in 2023.
For this year's special bottling to show our appreciation for what the guys at WTF do, we managed to secure something special: A blend of old (some very old ;)) malt whiskies from a (you could even say THE) whisky island. All blended together in an Oloroso cask and filled into bottles at imperceivable levels of tastiness. We sincerely love it, and we know you will too. It does not need any notes, it is straightforward and showcases what this island does best. Let it just take you on a journey and rewind time.
Deep in Germany lived the “Freestislay“, the dram-atic rapper from an island as rugged and raw as its whisky.
On a rainy day, during his favourite afternoon workout – lifting drams and dropping bars – he decided to open the old cask in his cellar that had traveled with him all the way from his homeland, a true artist’s freestyle blend. The aroma hit him like a hearty punch from a highland cow - peat and sea, but with a sherry twist.
“By the great haggis. Aye, that’s nae just whisky, that‘s home.”
Nose: Ash, maritime smoke, old oak
Palate: Sweetness of red fruit, a hint of salt and seaweed, a midsummer fire
Finish: Long and clear, sweet and bitter notes of forest fruit, oak, and cold ash
