PRESALE: Shipping commences in July!!!
Nose:
Some cold smoke, maritime saltiness, sweet lime fuits.
Palate:
Honey and ash intermingle, making way for slightly burned haloumi and fatty fish.
Finish:
Long and steady, marsipand and swordfish on the barbecue. Fizzling out slowly with a slightly ashy oaky sweetness.
He surfaced every autumn from Loch Indaal carrying driftwood, an impressive grill and tiny bags of coal strapped to his sides like military equipment.
Nobody knew where the Swordfish came from, but throughout the years everybody learned to love him. He would set up his barbecue, chuckle fiendishly at the Paps of Jura and barbecue until deep into the night. Bowmore harbour would smell of burnt haloumi for days after and some particularly confused tourists from across the Loch actually considered for a second if a new whisky pope was elected in Bowmore. As quickly as he came he vanished into the night, not to be seen again for another year.
A bowmore as it should be, a smoky summer whisky. We are not always fans of this distillery, especially the "red casks", but in bourbon Bowmore really shines. And this is a nice summer drinking whisky for a barbecue.
